There is just one week to go for comments on changes to local Fire Services, including the closure of two Stockport Fire Services.

The changes would see one new station built, but other changes include the reduction in firefighters on an appliance from 5 to 4.

Cllr Paul Ankers previously sat on the old Greater Manchester Fire Authority. He commented, “These things are being brought forward by the Labour Mayor and are going to increase response times and risk for Stockport residents.”
