A6 Road Alteration – New Section Opened 19th April

by paulankers on 20 April, 2017

As part of the new SEMMS bypass project, an often congested section of the A6 has been replaced. The section near Cherry Tree Drive, Thai Fusion etc. has been bypassed. Its well worth a look. However, a You-Tuber has been one of the first up and down, so you can see for yourself now. It is really going to be an approach Rd to the new bypass but there should be short term benefits too. Let us know what you think!

Sick of seeing our local green belt destroyed, new roads just bring more pollution into our area, while at the same time you want destroy green belt areas that soak up the pollution. We don’t need new roads we need to work out a better system of using them.

Agree. Until last October we used to lived close to the new road, and moved away before it was opened, in no small part for the reasons which you set out.

new roads lead to more car use…when will SMBC realise we need more bus lanes, more express buses (other than one a day from park & ride) more tram links, more cycle paths & more reliable train services? This new road is expensive & destructive to our precious greenery.
