Following a period of exceptionally wet weather from April to June this year, work in some locations along the A6 Manchester Airport Relief Road have been delayed.

In order to make better use of long summer days the project team applied, and have been granted planning permission for, longer working hours from the A6 in Hazel Grove to 500 metres west of Woodford Road in Bramhall (excluding a 200 metre section adjacent to Mill Hill Hollow).   The change will take effect from 19th September until the road is due to be complete next Autumn.

The change will allow work in the week from 7am until 7pm with deliveries from 6:30 am and vehicle maintenance to 7:30 pm.  The previous hours were 7am to 6pm  for all purposes.  There was no change for weekends even though there had been an indication there would be an application for all weekend working.
