Stockport LibDem Councillors Jon Twigge & Mark Hunter have criticised Stockport Council’s barmy plan to increase black bin collections from 2 to 3 weekly.
Cllr Mark Hunter said, “There are no guarantees here; no guarantees of savings or increased recycling. This is a big gamble to change a system that has been lauded nationally.”
Jon Twigge & the Hazel Grove team have been speaking to local people and over 90% are against. Jon said “Lots of Hazel Grove people have to take rubbish & recycling to the tip. They will not be incentivised to recycle more.”

It has been shown to not work in Bury. People are resorting to private collections. Do we think this is what Labour wants?
