Standing up for Hazel Grove All Year Round Learn more
by charlesgibson on 16 May, 2020
We’re launching a community recognition scheme, so that we can thank those who have gone the extra mile to help in this very trying time.
To our NHS workers and care givers, council staff and front line and key workers, you have our sincerest thanks and utmost respect.
These past few weeks have been very strange and often difficult for so many of us. Being separated from family and friends, the fear of becoming ill, economic uncertainty and for too many, the sad loss of a loved one.
But one thing has really stood out to us as your local Councillors – the strength & resilience of our community.
We have seen neighbours checking in on each other like never before, wonderful volunteers of strangers forming Mutual Aid groups, shopkeepers working extra hours, restaurants doing local deliveries to our homes and our local churches and other organisations helping the vulnerable. Our brilliant community has pulled together so wonderfully.
We’re asking you to nominate those who you think have gone above and beyond to help our community in this time of crisis. Let us know who they are, where they live or how we can get to them, and what they’ve been doing to help. They should be celebrated for the heroes that they are. You can email your nomination to [email protected]
Everyone is doing their bit. It is hard for us all, but together we will pull ourselves through this. You make us very proud to represent you.
Thank you for all you’ve been doing to stay at home, protect the NHS, and save lives.
Keep safe,
Cllr Charles Gibson, Cllr Lou Ankers, Cllr Paul Ankers, and the Hazel Grove Liberal Democrats
P.S. Remember to provide as many details as possible so we can give our friends and neighbours the recognition they deserve.

I’d like to nominate Christine and Katie from Hazel Grove Mutual Aid for the community recognition scheme. Plus all of the volunteers.
