Standing up for Hazel Grove All Year Round Learn more

Hazel Grove has seen some noticeable neglect by the Council this spring. Hopefully, it is not a sign of things to come under a Labour Council.
Local campaigner Paul Ankers reported this bin in Devonshire Park whilst walking with his daughter. New Lib Dem Councillor Jon Twigge reported an unsightly bin outside NatWest on the A6 at the junction of Lever St. This is combined with numerous cases of the Council letting grass verges grow to unacceptable heights.
Cllr Twigge said, “The Council must work harder for the people of Hazel Grove. The grass by Beech House is like a wilderness. And a filthy overflowing bin on the main road is not the kind of advert Hazel Grove needs.”
Jon is determined to keep the Council working for the people of Hazel Grove.

Glad to say the grass outside beech house medical centre has now been cut .although the cut grass has been left behind ,so if it gets windy it will end up down the grids blocking them up .why on earth a grass box cant be used i dont know ,its the same in the cemeteries
This is a very good point. I passed the front area near the A6 earlier but did not see any grass cuttings. I did see the grass was already getting long though.
I was with my baby daughter, so I will go and have a look soon when I can give it my full attention.
No cutting of the verges on Buxton Road (Hazel Grove side of Simpson’s Corner) either, except where adjacent property owners have done it themselves. The grass on one, near the outward bound 199/394 Mill Lane bus stop, is over two feet tall! This is the first summer that the local verges haven’t been cut; is this a further ratchet of the austerity agenda?!
Thanks John. Either I or Cllr Twigge will look at this and get it sorted out. Your point about a decline in services this summer is very true.
