Contractors working on behalf of Stockport Council will be continuing works on the Newbridge Lane and St Marys Way Retaining Wall, as part of the Town Centre Access Plan. The next stage of the works is the demolition of the current retaining wall and to facilitate these works it will be necessary to introduce a temporary one way restriction on Newbridge Lane, from the junction with St Marys Way to the junction with Alpine Road.
Traffic will be restricted to eastbound only, heading away from the Town Centre, and westbound traffic will be diverted via St Marys Way, Great Portwood Street, Corporation Street and Millgate.

Why don’t you tell us about the road works in Hazel Grove. That would seen more inportant.
Thank you Terry. We feature a lot of roadworks news and usually within Hazel Grove, but don’t restrict ourselves if we think the news might affect a number of our neighbours.
This roadworks will affect a number of commuters from the Grove heading to the M60.
There has been a lot of disruption in Hazel Grove recently, but that is the knock on effect of the LibDem Council investing in our roads.
