As everyone in Hazel Grove experienced, the ward and many surrounding areas experienced excessive amounts of rainfall in late July which led to the flooding of a number of homes and businesses.

The council is commissioning an independent review into the events leading up to the flooding, to understand why it happened and help inform future mitigation efforts. It will also take into account the 2016 flooding and the subsequent actions undertaken.
