Stockport Council has commenced a consultation on its revised Statement of Principles for the purposes of the Gambling Act 2005. Details of the consultation can be found at https://www.stockport.gov.uk/haveyoursay 

The most significant change is in relation to reducing the limits on the in store gambling machines from £100 to £2. This was a LibDem campaign but one I personally disagreed with. I felt £2 was much too restrictive and focused too much on a minority that had a problem without actually addressing their problems. There are plenty of people who could gamble beyond £2 without any implications and their liberty was impinged.
